Frank was with his father, standing outside Harvard and his father told him, “If you work really hard, maybe one day you’ll marry a girl who goes to Harvard!” Fast forward a few years and here’s Frank, marrying Xi, who is not only the love of his life, but also fulfills his father’s education request in this gorgeous Yellow and Grey Wedding.
About the Couple
“The story goes that all of their friends could see the sparks between them and gave them a healthy nudge to help them along. They met each other while at business school at MIT. They started as friends, networking and studying together. One day, Frank asked to get a bite to eat with Xi. Xi wasn’t sure what was going on at first since getting a bite to eat is one of ways that they would usually network and it was all just a part of what business school is about.
When she realized they were going off campus for lunch, it hit her that this was the real deal and an official date! Their first date was at a food truck! Immediately they both said that it came very natural and that they already felt so comfortable with each other that there wasn’t any first date awkwardness.
Xi and Frank both share the foundational things that matter – a deep love of family and friends; hospitality and community-building; simplicity in life; curiosity for the world; hugs and hand-holding.” – Associate photographer, Karen
About the Yellow and Grey Wedding
We love that their big day was all about having a celebration with their favorite people at Harvard Memorial Church. They each had their closest friends by their sides as their families looked on with lots of smiles and even some happy tears. Being a lover of color as Knotsvilla is always on the look out for color-ful weddings, this Yellow and Grey wedding is giving us all sorts of happy vibes.
The yellow is bursting against the dapper shade of Grey in this wedding. Xi’s bouquet to Frank’s Boutonniere were nothing short of perfection with so much character, especially the bouquet. We are totally smitten by the reception venue though…the centerpieces (flowers, books and wine bottles), makes this wedding such a pleasure to view. Clearly this wedding makes a “simple but chic modern” statement with every detail.
