I don’t think I’m a normal bride.
Let me explain.
Our colors are navy and bright/lime-y green.
We recently ordered our save the dates *late* because we had problems getting the colors to work out. It’s something with RGB, CMYK, blah, blah, blah (I don’t understand web/ designer speak, but ask me to spell/grammar check a paper and I’ve got your back). We were originally using an online company to save money, but the green wasn’t going to be bright enough. When I sat down and thought about it, I realized who cares if the save the date green isn’t as bright as some of the things we’re doing at the actual wedding? No one is going to bring their postcard and compare it to the green. If they do, well…that’s special.
I told myself I would explore a few other options, but would keep this in mind. Maybe we could do our save the dates and invitations with the darker green, then print the bright green things (table numbers, menus, etc.) for the wedding at a local printer who could help us.
I reached out to a local printer just to see how much getting our save the dates locally would cost.
It would cost me $891 to print a minimum of 250 postcard save the dates. We only need 100 and did I mention we’re paying for the wedding ourselves?
No thank you.
Ultimately, I decided to forget the bright green. At the end of the day, all that matters is that I’m marrying my fiancé. That’s the part I’m most excited for anyway. I shouldn’t let little things like shades of green get me down on such an important day in my life.
Is that normal? Some people are telling me no. My designer expected me to flip out when she brought me the news of it not being bright enough. She ultimately gave me the title of “most laid back bride ever”…does it at least come with a crown and a sash?
