Once in a while we share anniversaries and let me be honest with you, they are quickly becoming my favorite, especially when they are styled! Kait and Nate’s surprise beach anniversary session is no different, all the love, styling and perfect images by Common Dove Photography!
Surprise Beach Anniversary Session
When: July 15th 2017 | Where: Atlantic Beach, NC | Theme: Beach | Colors: Blue |
“This session was a surprise for my sister that her husband and I put together for her on their anniversary. They were married two years ago at The Celebration Cottage in Atlantic Beach, NC.
On her actual wedding day many things were not put out by the planner and we wanted to surprise her with a “re-do.” Our mother had hand dyed almost 200 vases that were supposed to be displayed in an ombre on the tables. Not a single one was put out two years ago so we displayed some of them on the stairs.
We also tried to recreate her other details like the cake, dinner and arbor display. The arbor is copper and hand built by our father. Her husband surprised her with some sweet words in a vow-renewal type set up. We finished it all with a portrait session—Romance and happy tears galore!” – Common Dove Photography
“This anniversary session was a completely unexpected shock! The dress was purchased for me by my mother and sister in advance. I thought we were just going to an anniversary dinner at the Island Grille, the restaurant/venue where we had our wedding almost two years earlier.
When we arrived, Nathan blindfolded me and walked me out onto the beach. When the blindfold was removed, I was taken totally off guard, and immediately started crying happy tears.
This entire day was magical. I had no idea what was planned for me. My dad had set up the arbor from our wedding. My husband led me out and read the sweetest love letter to me. It was like a second proposal.
My sister had coordinated with the Cottage’s event planner and a florist and had put out vases with flowers on the steps of the Cottage. They were STUNNING. My mom spent months preparing and collecting hundreds of vases for our wedding day, but due to intense wind that day, none of them got put out as centerpieces. I had the most beautiful bouquet to carry.
We were able to get the most amazing sunset photos, missed on our wedding day due to rain and wind. And if all of this wasn’t perfect enough, we were able to have the most romantic dinner in the gazebo where we planned our first dance. The food was delicious, and the cake was fantastic.” – Kait
