Special Ways To Ask Your Friends to Be your Bridesmaids | Wedding Diaries

As soon as I got engaged, one of the first things I did was ask my best friends to be my bridesmaids.

I knew I wanted to do something special for them and a fun “ask box” seemed perfect. I picked out items for the boxes based on my wedding color scheme (gold, mint, ivory and black) and what I knew my girls would actually use.

Their boxes included the following:

  • Essie nail polish

  • A card with a personalized note inside

  • Mrs. Meyer’s Soy Candle

  • A glittered bottle of champagne (DIY can be found here)

  • A mud face mask

  • Salt water taffy from a local candy shop

  • Black and gold makeup bag with lip balm inside

Each box was packaged up with white tissue paper and thick gold ribbon. The girls loved their boxes and they all said YES!

Your girls are going to be there to help you in the planning stages, any DIY projects, and especially on the day of the wedding. Treat them nicely (DON’T BE A BRIDEZILLA) and they will help calm your nerves before the ceremony, tell you if there’s lipstick on your teeth, and of course hold your dress up for you when you pee. It’s a tough a job being a bridesmaid so pick your gals appropriately and give them something special to show them you care.

Here are some other ways to ask your friends and persuade them into saying yes:
