First vendor post on KnotsVilla! I actually have to apologize because ideally I should have posted about this gorgeous work a while ago but random stuff happens in the life of this blogger girl. Enough of my story, here is Something Treasured Bridal Accessories by Maram Nassar.
Something Treasured is a bridal accessories company specializing in sashes, headpieces and brooches – where you can find your SOMETHING old, new, borrowed and blue! The owner, Maram Nassar, built the business shortly after she herself got married. When Maram was searching for her wedding gown she absolutely loved her detailed dress but because she had wanted a personal touch, she decided to design a sash for her dress instead of using the sash that came with the gown. Maram fell in love with her unique sash and wanted other brides to have that same personal touch.
After researching materials, trims and crystals for a year after her wedding, Maram finally launched Something Treasured on the most loved day of the year: Valentine’s Day of 2013. Using top-quality imported crystals and fabrics from all over the world, all the Something Treasured accessories are hand-made in the US and sold at an affordable price point. From the colors to the material, each bride has the opportunity to be involved and design her own accessory to give her the exact look she envisions on her wedding day.
Since the launch, Something Treasured has been featured in the following outlets: Huffington Post Weddings, Pretty Pear Bride, Write In Color, Style Me Pretty, Bridal Hot List, Emmaline Bride (and now KnotsVilla!) and will soon be featured in Today’s Bride, one of the most prestigious wedding magazines in the San Francisco Bay Area.
About the Founder
Maram Nassar grew up in Whittier, CA until she was 17 after which she then attended the University of Southern California to study Communication and Film. Because her family is from both Palestine and Honduras, she was always very proud that she could communicate in both Arabic and Spanish, which helped her career beyond measures. Since she had always been interested in the entertainment industry, it was natural for her to work in Los Angeles and Hollywood.
She started out in reality TV production at E! Entertainment. Maram then moved on to work in catering and sales and put on several upscale events. Eventually she landed herself at what she considered her 2nd home, FOX Broadcasting Company. Throughout her career in entertainment and events, she has worked with several talent and on a variety of television shows, including: American Idol, 24, X Factor, The Simpsons, Billboard Music Awards, Hell’s Kitchen, Glee, New Girl, MasterChef, Teen Choice and American Country Awards. In 2005, under the alias Mizz Jibbz, she created a celebrity gossip email called the “Daily Cheese” that was read by thousands of readers, which she continues to send out.
After working at FOX for almost 6 years in marketing, promotions and events, Maram moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in early 2012. In an effort to combine a few of her favorite hobbies (events, red carpet dresses, the wedding industry and making people smile), she decided to launch Something Treasured on Valentine’s Day 2013. At Something Treasured she creates custom belts and headpieces for wedding and special occasion dresses. Something Treasured took off shortly after the launch and created quite the buzz online. Since the launch, Something Treasured has been featured on several popular wedding sites (such as Huffington Post Weddings, Style Me Pretty and Bridal Hot List.) The accessories are sold in a few California stores and are hoping to expand throughout the US and International. The sky is the limit for Maram (aka Mizz Jibbz) and Something Treasured!
Maram currently lives with her husband in Walnut Creek, CA and has been happily married since January 2012.
