Happy new year KV fam! It makes me way over-joyed to introduce the new year with what KV is known for – themed weddings! Jessica and Michael’s Rustic Mountain Wedding by Cariad Photography is the definition of awesomeness and compromise! This gorgeous fall wedding moves very quickly from subtle to loud with the very detailed pieces such as her bouquet, the wedding cake and it’s topper, and their super-hero guest book!
About the Wedding
Where: Splendor Mountain, North Georgia | When: October 23, 2015 | Theme: Rustic, Fall, Mountain, Super Hero | Colors: Orange, Green
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Michael knew Jessica wanted to experience a real autumn with mountains and everything. He found the location and everything took off from there. She absolutely loved the colors of the trees in our backdrop, the tree swing and the twinkle lights set up outside the lodge.
“But of course” Jessica writes, “everything is about compromise. Michael is an avid comic book fan along with all things superhero, his favorite being Batman, so we had to make sure we squeezed that into the wedding. Each of the groomsmen was assigned a different Superhero to represent, complete with t-shirts and props. Don’t be surprised if you find a hidden Batman figure on our cake or Bat-a-rang in the background of our pictures. We also had a Star Wars and Super hero Photo Booth set up – check out the awesome picture Cariad Photography got of me knocking out the boys with “The Force”.”
About the Couple
“Michael and I are both Emergency Rooms nurses and met when we helped open up a new hospital in our neighborhood back in 2011. We didn’t start dating until a few years later. I actually tried setting up Michael with one of my close friends, luckily that never got off the ground.
Michael and I were dating for about six months when he popped the question. He knew I was close to finding the hidden engagement ring in the house, so he completely changed his plans, hid the ring in his shoe, and proposed to me in front of the Rose Garden in Disney World while we were vacationing with my mom and sister. Cinderella’s Castle was in the background.”- Jessica
Wedding Planning Advice
“Take the time to plan ahead and really get to know your vendors – they make all the difference. We planned this wedding from out of state, without a wedding planner, while I was finishing graduate school. Every vendor we went with, was from a word-of-mouth referral and we couldn’t have been more blessed with everyone who helped us out along the way.” – Jessica
