Rustic Meets Elegance & Vintage Meets Modern | Styled Shoot

There is something totally amazing about a theme mixing! Sometimes we hear people describe them as “Theme A wedding with a twist of Theme B”, or “Theme A meets Theme B”, either way, I am always so certain that some gorgeousness and creativity is involved. And we totally see that in today’s styled shoot where Rustic meets Elegance and Vintage meets Modern!

Details of Rustic Meets Elegance & Vintage Meets Modern Styled Shoot in Virginia

Submitted by Lieb Photographic, this styled shoot is described below;

“When I first drove up to tour this newly opened venue, I knew I had found a hidden gem that would not stay hidden for long. Featuring wild flower fields, a charming arbor, and an outdoor covered pavilion, this farm retreat nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains spoke of a sweet outdoor romance. When planning this shoot, I wanted everything to showcase and complement the existing beauty already there. So my best choice for a summer romantic shoot was a light and soft vintage palette fitting for woodsy, yet elegant nuptials.

I had the unique opportunity to ask my former student, Boston photographer, Alexis Campbell of Alexis Winston Photography to collaborate with me on this project. Alexis and I worked together with the vendors and models to make my vision a reality.

As the details came together, we wanted to express the ideas of rustic meets elegance and vintage meets modern. We did not want the formality of tuxedos, but wanted to retain the dapper charm of a suit jacket to create the perfect look for our groom, Josh.

Our bride Abigail, radiates a vintage charm with a modern flair in this Maggie Sottero dress. It was a perfect choice for our lovely model who also grew up amongst the rolling hills and valleys of Virginia’s Blue Ridge. She walked through the grounds as if she had lived in this very place.

The greenery and floral crown takes the place of a veil, and the bouquet just had to contain some of the same wild flowers I found all over the property. Antique linens, vases and bottles accented the china as well as the beautiful burlap-lined bottles. The refinished antique bed provided a sweet restful spot for our bride and groom under the shade of the trees.

For an old vintage tradition, we added the special touch of something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. The antique truck “old,” the Bride’s Bible “new”, the antique cameo and vintage tintype “borrowed,” and the bridal bouquet brooch “blue.”

There is nothing quite like a charming Virginia wedding or inspiration shoot!”
