About the Rustic Fall Engagement Session
Ashley and Micah love collecting antiques. For their Rustic Fall Engagement, they added the perfect props to communicate their theme; fun vintage suitcases, and the handmade barn wood ring box Micah proposed to Ashley with and a journal the two have been writing each other letters in since they started dating.
About the Proposal
“Micah proposed at the D&S Marina on the Delaware River. I thought we were going out to dinner with a couple of friends, so I got all dressed up for a nice dinner on the water. When I got there, Micah looked amazing. He was all smiles knowing what was to come, and I, of course, was obvious.
We drove around in the boat for a little while waiting for another friend to arrive when Justin, our friend, had to leave because “something was wrong with the boat”. Micah and I drove around waiting for him to come back with the part. He had just gotten his boating license and was so excited to drive it all by himself.
We rode down the river a little and then he turned on one of our favorite songs on the radio. He started to pull up close to the marina, and that’s when I realized what was happening. I could see pictures, hearts, and lights in a gazebo on the dock. I started to cry. My sister was there to help me out of the boat and I couldn’t even stand. I had been waiting for this moment my entire life and it was finally here!
They led me to a seat with candles, flowers, and our journal with a very special letter written inside. He let out his heart to me, and explained how excited he was that Jesus had led us together. At the end of the letter he wrote, “If I timed this right, I’ll be standing behind you with a very important question to ask.”
I was crying my eyes out, and as I turned around, there he was smiling so big. He asked me to marry him and I said yes!!!!! Micah told me he had another surprise, so we got back in the boat and that’s when it started to downpour! It was amazing; it felt like we were being literally showered with God’s love. We got to Curtains Marina where all of our family and friends were waiting. It was the best day of my life so far and I’m so excited to marry the man of my dreams!!” – Ashley
