Today’s stunning Rustic Chic Summer wedding is the perfect combination of traditional and chic. The ceremony in Hoboken made for gorgeous skyline pictures, while the setting of the Ryland Inn was perfect for a scenic reception. From mason jar lemonades to s’mores and sparklers, this wedding was a Summer night to remember. The color scheme was also a beautiful element to this wedding; Pink, Navy and Gold!
Christin & Dan wanted to have a wedding that really told a lot about them and their relationship. They focused on a laid back, rustic/chic atmosphere while still including some traditional wedding elements. After visiting numerous venues, they knew immediately upon walking in, that the Ryland Inn was the perfect place for them. They loved the indoor and outdoor space and the rustic charm and history of the building.
The couple decided to have their ceremony in Hoboken since that’s where they met and currently live. They loved the idea of having pictures with the NYC skyline but also with the beautiful outdoor space at the Ryland Inn.
About the Couple & The Proposal
Christin & Daniel Bryan met through their best friends who started dating and thought they’d would be a great match. They first hung out during a big snowstorm right after Christmas and really hit it off. The couple were lucky enough to have their friends as their matron of honor and best man at the wedding.
“One of our favorite things to do is spend time at the beach. Whenever we visit Dan’s grandparents’ shore house, they always have 4:00 wine and cheese hour (one of our favorite times of the day!). We spent a beautiful, sunny day on the beach and after returning to the house, I went to relax on the deck. Dan came outside with two glasses of wine and a platter of cheese and crackers with the ring in the center!” – Christin
More about the Rustic Chic Summer Wedding
“Everything about our special day was beyond anything we could have imagined. We are fortunate enough time live close by a majority of family and friends so everyone special to us was able to attend. We had our ceremony in Hoboken (where we live) and our reception was about 45 minutes west in New Jersey. We were able to have amazing wedding pictures with the NYC skyline in the background but also have a country feel in the ones taken at our venue.
I really wanted to use wood boxes for the flowers instead of typical vases. I loved the idea of incorporating the table numbers into the flower centerpieces. Luckily I found a lot of amazing vendors on etsy so it was easy to customize a lot of the special things I wanted to include.
I also made a lot of things for the big day. I spray painted all of the mason jars, made our programs, escort cards and a lot of the little accents throughout the day. I found the large B in Homegoods one day and knew it was the perfect centerpiece for one of our tables.
The weather was perfect. We had an absolutely beautiful summer day – no clouds in the sky and a nice breeze throughout the day. The reception was amazing and the band kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night. The outdoor space stayed open throughout the night and guests were able to enjoy the beautiful night outside with sparklers and s’mores. We ended the evening with small bags of pretzel dogs (my favorite) as a late night snack.” – Christin
Advice for future couples planning for the same event
“The most important thing is that you’re a team. Everyone will tell you what to do, what not to do, who to invite, etc. It’s important to stick together and remember that the day is about you as a couple and making it fun for everyone there.” – Christin
