Romantic New Jersey Wedding | Vanessa Joy Photography

When: June 17, 2016 | Where: New Jersey | Theme: Classic, Romantic, Elegant | Colors: Pink

Mike and Amanda tied the knot in a very classic and romantic style at the Ashford Estate in New Jersey. The wedding was full of a gorgeous shade of pink which inserted the romantic vibe into the event, all too perfectly. Captured by Vanessa Joy Photography, Mike and Amanda’s Romantic New Jersey Wedding is totally one for the books, such a classic wedding!

“I have many favorite moments from the day, but one that I will never forget is the feeling right before the barn doors opened at the Ashford Estate and my dad was waiting to walk me down the aisle. My teeth were chattering because I was so nervous and excited! The staff members at the Estate were crying because they thought it was so beautiful. It felt like the world stopped at that moment and I knew I was exactly where I should be.” – Amanda

About the Couple

“Mike and I met at Villanova. We had several classes together, and we were in the finance club. Mike would sit in the back of the class and trade stocks on his laptop, while I would sit in front and raise my hand to answer every question. We crossed paths many times but didn’t hit it off until we both had internships in NYC over the summer of 2011.

We met up with a group of mutual friends, and by 4:30am, the only two people left in the bar were me and Mike. After talking all night, I expected him to give me a good-night kiss, but he didn’t. I was surprised and confused, I thought it certainly meant that he didn’t like me. However, the next day, he told me that he didn’t make a move because he really liked me and he didn’t want to mess it up.

For the rest of the summer we were inseparable. He brought me a single red rose every time he took me on a date that summer (and sometimes he still surprises me with roses on dates!)” – Amanda

Wedding Planning Advice

“Ultimately the day is about you and your husband/wife, not about the flowers, the shoes, the napkins…The details can get frustrating and cause a lot of drama, but the real purpose of the event is to celebrate you and your love, so don’t forget that when things get stressful.” – Amanda
