When: September 03, 2016 | Where: Ontario | Theme: Romantic, Elegant | Colors: Blush Pink, Gold
It’s a good day when KV gets to show off gorgeousness from our country – Canada! Jen and Ted’s Romantic Blush Pink Wedding is gracing the blog today and we couldn’t be any happier!
Jen spent countless hours planning and perfecting her blush pink and gold wedding and each detail she incorporated is giving us serious wedding-perfect-goosebumps! The florals were filled with cream and pink flowers. The ceremony and reception were both held at the Valhalla Inn which made it easy for the guests as over half of them were out-of-town guests. The ceremony was outdoors in the courtyard following the reception in the ballroom which was decorated gorgeously with blush pink floral overlays and linens.
About the Couple
“We met November 5th, 2011 through mutual friends. We both were not looking for a relationship. From the day we met we talked everyday and it quickly developed into a relationship a couple months later.
Our proposal was on July 18th, 2015 in Grand Marais, MN. We were staying in a suite that was overlooking Lake Superior. Ted asked me to go for a walk along the beach. We came across a log and sat down. He then began to express his feelings and love for me and got down on one knee and proposed.” – Jen
Wedding Planning Advice
“If something doesn’t go as planned brush it off and enjoy you’re special day. People are there to celebrate your love. Take a step back with your husband and watch everyone enjoy themselves at your reception, was the best feeling to see everyone come together, laughing and dancing.” – Jen
The Planning Details
“A few months after being engaged I got my dress. I found my dress after only trying on 3 before it. I knew it was the one as I cried after seeing myself in it as well as everyone who came to help me pick it out. We all were in tears. I suggest trying on all styles to make sure you rule out and find that perfect style. I had my family take a picture of me in all the dresses so I could see exactly how it looked in photos as you will have a million taken the day of. haha.
I also let my bridesmaids pick out their own dresses. I had a couple rules, they had to be the color I wanted and all the same dress. They all went in together to Davids Bridal and picked out one style that they all loved. They were all very happy and thanked me for letting them pick so they were comfortable.
Another great thing I did was having the hair stylists and make up artists come to the hotel to do all my bridesmaids, myself and any family members. This made the morning so smooth to just wake up and have them come to us instead of rushing around.
We did cupcakes for our day and we had nothing but great feedback from that. Everyone loved the idea and we were able to have an assortment of flavors.”
“I can’t say enough about our photographer, Dorothy was amazing. She captures every detail imagined and when looking back at the photos it’s like reliving our special day. Dorothy would put you in all different settings so you had different backgrounds, such a great variety and tons to choose from. Honestly if we could get them all developed we would.
She is pleasant to work with, laughs and jokes so that you are comfortable and not awkward. We cannot thank her enough for her talented work.” – Jen
