Pantone Spring 2016 Colors

Just a little while ago, the color and wedding world went gaga when the Pantone Spring 2016 Colors were announced. Finally I get to start painting the blog with these colors starting with today’s post which lines up all the selected colors for the Spring year. Keeping theses colors in mind (and in the middle column), I’ve also mixed them with lighter and darker shades (right and left columns) for those in the art of mismatching single colors. Hopefully this gives you an idea of how beautiful and colorful this spring season 2016 is about to be! From soft to spicy strong, these selections are quite the eye color candy!

“Colors this season transcend cultural and gender norms. Vivid brights give way to excitement and optimism, though quiet stability prevails in this season’s palette. For Spring 2016 there are truly no perceivable distinctions in color choices between the men’s and women’s collections, both of which focus on a desire to breathe and reflect, then play.” – Leatrice Eisman

Here are the top 10 Pantone Spring 2016 Colors and hues to consider when mismatching your bridesmaids dresses or incorporating to other aspects of your wedding.

Details of the Pantone Spring 2016 Colors

Rose Quartz: Perfect for the lighthearted spring and summer months, this persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure.

Peach Echo: An all-encompassing shade that emanates friendlier qualities, evoking warmth and accessibility. One which is a tempered companion in the playful orange family.

Serenity: Weightless and airy comforting color with a calming effect, like the expanse of the blue sky. A transcendent blue, Serenity provides us with a naturally connected sense of space.

Snorkel Blue: Close to what we know as Midnight Blue, a maritime-inspired blue in the navy family, but with a happier, more energetic context. The name alone implies a relaxing vacation and encourages escape.

Buttercup: Summer perfection, one unlike the majority of the Spring/Summer palette trends which are more calm looking, a diversion which offers a striking and sunnier contrast.

Limpet Shell: A shade of aqua that leans towards the green family and is suggestive of clarity and freshness, with its crisp and modern influences that evoke a deliberate, mindful tranquility.

Lilac Grey: One of my favorites! A neutral tone of a classic gray shade which embodies a subtle shade of purple – Lilac.

Fiesta: Full of fun and energy, a color of excitement. A strong and fiery, yellow-based red, the vivid Fiesta provides a stark contrast to the calming, softer nature of this season’s palette.

Iced Coffee: The perfect transitional color that will take us through the seasons. It manifests as another strong neutral color for the season with its natural earthy quality and softness.

Green Flash: “A color that calls on its wearer to explore, push the envelope and escape the mundane, radiating an openness that combines with the rest of the palette in unexpected but serendipitous ways. The popularity of this brilliant hue is representative of nature’s persistent influence even in urban environments, a trend continuing to inspire designers.”
