About the Outdoor Vintage Inspired Wedding
Danielle and Hiroshi had their gorgeous outdoor, vintage inspired wedding last year. Captured by the Argus Image, this wedding showcased beautifully the warm and romantic colors that were used – peach, cream and succulent green. The couple included wine barrel cocktail tables, touches of burlap (table runners and elements in the boutonnieres and bouquets), wood round supports for the floral centerpieces, vintage gold votives, strung lighting and mini succulents as name card table assignments and favors.
Danielle’s godfather, Bruce officiated the wedding. Bruce first met Danielle when she was 2 years old and Hiroshi when he was 15 so he was able to speak about their relationship from the heart. Since Hiroshi is half Japanese and we both have Jewish heritage, they tailored the ceremony to tie in these two backgrounds. They had a sake ceremony, sipping from their cups 3 times to symbolize their newly formed bond and the new bond with their families. To represent the Jewish tradition, Danielle walked around Hiroshi 3 times to symbolize the 3 virtues of marriage: righteousness, justice and loving kindness. At the end, everyone clapped 3 times to announce them as husband and wife!
About the Couple
Danielle and Hiroshi met at the young age of 13 at Mill Valley Middle School in Ms. Coulson’s math class. Danielle tapped Hiroshi on the shoulder to show him how to type inappropriate words using a TI 83 calculator (she never developed a knack for mathematics).
A few short years later in the summer between sophomore and junior year of high school, Danielle and Hiroshi went to Spain with their close friends, under the supervision of the legendary Sr. Cruz. They shared their first kiss at the Spain reunion a few months later in their friend Taylor’s guesthouse. The rest is history!
The couple dated throughout college, making frequent weekend trips to visit one another. After graduation, they parted ways for a couple years to grow and develop as individuals. During those challenging years they both matured into the strong adults that they are today. As fate would have it, Danielle and Hiroshi reunited a little over 4 years ago and instantly fell back in love. They bought their first home together last year and and began building their new lives.
Hiroshi proposed on November 3, 2014 over their first homemade meal in their new home.
