Hey, hey, it’s a feature from Canada and you know I’m a happy camper today just for that reason – it’s always such a pleasure to highlight great couples, style and photography from my newly acquired country of residence. Today’s Outdoor Vancouver Engagement session is a dreamy one, full of nature’s beauty (flowers) and a couple with such a great sense of style.
Submitted by Joel Keddie, this Vancouver Engagement session came about when Joel ran a promotion (giveaway) for a discounted wedding package on his Facebook page. Well you guessed right, our couple today won that giveaway! The contest required entrants to submit a photo of themselves as well as tell Joel why they deserved to win.
Here is what Jacquelyn submitted (Proposal Story included):
“I have nominated myself and Rob to win the wedding package because I think we are a real couple that are truly two best friends meant for each other! He proposed in the sweetest surprise way ever! I returned home from a family cruise at 9:30 and to be shoved into the washroom with the door shut promptly behind me as soon as I walked in. I had been away for a week, so naturally I thought he was cleaning up all of his take out boxes (I was concerned he may starve while I was away as he can’t cook very well) and just trying to shield me from the mess.
After 5 minutes, I began to grow impatient and just said its 9:30 am, I really don’t mind if there’s a mess and just want to relax and get my land legs back….then suddenly the door opens to candles lit and I will love you for 1000 years playing in the background with a string of 40 photos and stories of our lives shared together. He had strung ribbon from every possible position in our house starting with the first photo titled the story of us- followed by the story of our journey together document by photographs, witty sayings and special memories that we’ve shared over the years.
It was so creative and very special. I opened the last photo which was a wedding invitation and him down on one knee asking me to marry him. So special, and all the photographs along the way brought back so many special memories of everything we have shared together. I believe photos are so important in life, as we evolve, age, grow and change together it’s a way to always remember.”
Jacquelyn and Rob live in North Vancouver and one place they love to visit from time to time is the Lonsdale Quay market. Joel always encourages his clients to select a location that has some meaning to them as it helps the photos have more meaning. Jacquelyn and Rob selected Lonsdale because of its diversity in locations.
