Outdoor Blue and White Wedding by 13 One Photography

Sometimes our schedules change a bit and we bring you a Real wedding on a Thursday! Today’s wedding is definitely worth the change of schedule. Stefanie and Kyle’s Outdoor Blue and White Wedding is lit with gorgeous and simple details, such as the white rose and hydrangea bouquet, smores bar, ring security ring bearer, and more.

Stefanie and Kyle planned their big day during their 2 year engagement to include getting ready in a historical home, with an outside ceremony and reception on the banks of the Mohawk River.

How they Met & Proposal Story

The couple met during their senior year at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. Despite having a similar circle of friends, they hadn’t crossed paths until they ended up living across the hall from each other. After a few months of spending time together as friends, Kyle finally asked Stefanie out on a date. And from there the two became inseparable.

“Kyle proposed while we were on vacation in Newport, Rhode Island. After a romantic ocean side dinner, we took a walk along the beach. While we were sitting on a bench listening to the waves, Kyle proposed. When we got back to our hotel room, Kyle had arranged for there to be roses, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us.” – Stefanie

Special Details About the Event

“We wanted the day to be a celebration of us but also of our families joining together. We wanted to recognize all the years of marriage that our grandparents and parents shared. During the ceremony, we recognized our families and shared their wedding photos at our reception.

Instead of traditional favors, we had a s’mores bar. My family has an annual camping trip that means a lot to us and we thought incorporating the s’mores bar would be a great way to share that fun at the wedding. My dad actually made the s’mores bar from sections of a tree.

We also wanted to have fun and incorporate some fun nods to Kyle’s interests. We took a few fun photos with the wedding party in a football formation and kept the cake playful. We had Billy the Buffalo peeking out from the top tier of the cupcake tower and an adorable football themed topper.

I also really enjoyed doing a “first look” with my Dad. The photos truly capture the emotion and the love he was feeling.” – Stefanie

Advice for future couples planning for the same event

“Don’t forget what the day is really all about – celebrating each other and starting your new lives together. While it can be fun to get into all the little details, don’t let them dictate how much you enjoy your wedding.” – Stefanie
