It’s always great when couples show off their personality in their engagement sessions, that’s kind of what KV lives for! Jen and Patrick did just that with their very fashionable look in this garden engagement session by the lovely Vanessa Joy Photography.
“Our clothes are from a collection of local boutiques in our area as well as department stores such as Macy’s and Nordstrom. For Pat, he has beautiful blue eyes so we wanted to make sure whatever he wore, one of his best features stood out. I focused on more flow-y dresses and shirt (a mix of casual and a little dressy) to remain comfortable but I also wanted to wear some vibrant colors (teal, fuchsia) to stand out and create nice contract with my hair and scenery. ” – Jen
About the Couple & Proposal
“We met July 4th weekend in 2012. We both spend our summers in Manasquan NJ. One afternoon we were playing bingo at our favorite bar, Leggetts, when a mutual friend introduced us. From there, we would see each other time to time at the beach and became close friends. When summer was over, we began spending time together in Hoboken, where we both lived, and started dating.
In November 2014, we planned to have dinner at a new restaurant in Jersey City that Pat’s brother began performing at. On the way, Pat asked the cab driver to stop a few blocks away because the restaurant was on a dock and difficult to pull up to. We walked along the boardwalk on the way to the restaurant and stopped at a lighthouse. While we peered out at the New York skyline, Pat dropped to one knee. After he proposed, we walked to the restaurant where all our friends and family were waiting and surprised us.” – Jen.
