It’s been a while since we had engagement sessions on this blog, actually this is the first in the year 2015 and every bit of this adorable engagement session is worth the wait! A beautiful summer Beach engagement session with pops of color, customized macarons, wine glasses and photo perfection by Vanessa Joy Photography!
“Dan proposed to me in Disney world on May 7th. It was the best 24 hrs of my entire life because the day before I graduated with my MBA and got my dream job and then finally engaged, all within a 24 hour period! I so wish I could go back in time and relive that day.
Disney was the perfect place for his proposal because it is our favorite place in the world to travel to together. Before my MBA, I was an international flight attendant and had traveled all over the world but there is just something so magical about being in Disney because it makes us feel like we’re kids again and can just have fun.” – Christina
About the Beach Engagement Session – Picnic
Christina and Dan had their beach engagement photo shoot in spring lake, New Jersey. Down the street from Dan’s family beach house is a beautiful lake and bridge where they started out the shoot. For the first part of the session, Christina wore Kate spade head to toe and got him to match with a polo shirt and khakis. Then the couple moved down the street to the beach where they set up a picnic.
Beach Picnic Desserts – Fun Wedding Details
Their favorite desserts are macarons so they had customized macarons with their wedding date, August 2 2015 as well as cute love phrases of the couple. The wine glasses were made from the store things remembered in the freehold mall that said save the date and their wedding date in navy blue painted on the glass.
Beach Engagement Fun
After their picnic scene Christina changed into her third dress, a Lilly Pulitzer maxi dress and they literally just played on the beach as Vanessa Joy captured them just having fun together. They also had their love for Disney added to this portion of the session, with the groom and bride hats.
“The beach is our favorite place and we go for walks on the beach everyday so we wanted to just capture us in our natural everyday setting. His personality really came out when he picked me up pretending to drop me in the ocean. He can be very playful at times.” – Christina
“We were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend named Monica and ironically Dan proposed to me on Monica’s 30th birthday. Now I knew I had to ask Monica in a special way to be a bridesmaid so we actually sent a singing gorilla dressed in a bridal gown telegram to her office in NYC.
The gorilla pulled her out of a huge meeting to sing wedding songs and then made up a song for her, asking her to be a bridesmaid. The CEO of the company was at the meeting and luckily had a great sense of humor and ended up taping the whole thing and putting it in their company newsletter. At our rehearsal dinner we will be having her make a speech on why she decided to set us up and what made her know we would be perfect for each other.” – Christina
