When: Sept 12th, 2017 | Where: Montego Bay, Jamaica | Theme: Beach, Coastal |
In this our subzero temperature here in Canada, allow me to live vicariously through these love birds in their Jamaican beach portrait session in Montego bay! Oh summer, we miss thee!
Captured perfectly by Anne Brookshire, tthe scenery provided the perfect view for their day after portrait session. Brandy & Trey were married the day before and enjoyed a relaxed and intimate session.
Jamaican Beach Portrait Session
“Right before this photo shoot, a large group of us (family and friends) went cliff jumping at Rick’s Cafe, a well-known restaurant/bar with an amazing view in Negril. It was a very fun and hectic morning. Negril is about a 2-hour drive from our resort in Montego Bay. However, the photo shoot was a nice getaway for Trey and I.
We had been with friends and family the entire wedding weekend and we realized we hadn’t been alone since we had said “I do” the day before. The timing of the shoot was perfect. The beach was clear of people and it felt like we were the only ones there. (In some of the photos you can see dark rain clouds coming in but it never rained once.)
The Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall was previously a Ritz-Carlton until Hyatt bought it out. The resort was newly renovated and had only been open for about five months before our wedding took place. We had never visited the resort either but heard about it at a Houston bridal show. And it ended up being amazing.
The resort grounds were beautiful, and our suite and the service were perfect. Being able to have Jamaica–the beach, turquoise water and the mountains–as our backdrop for the photo shoot, I couldn’t have asked for more.”
“Trey decided we needed a vacation. We hadn’t been on a trip together in over five years and thought it was time. We picked Jamaica because we’ve never been. We settled on Jewel Dunn’s River Resort in Ocho Rios.
On our second day there, Trey had planned a romantic, private dinner on a pier overlooking the ocean. With desert came a ring! I still have the menu saved from that day.”
Day-after Portrait Session Attire
“I chose to wear a chiffon, pleated maxi dress that I had ordered from Victoria’s Secret for our engagement shoot back in Houston, but it was never delivered in time. I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to wear it.
I paired it with a statement necklace that my husband had bought for me as a gift from a boutique in Houston.
My husband chose to wear a white linen shirt, beige pants and Sperry’s, all purchased from Nordstrom. In May, it was pretty hot in Jamaica, so we tried to keep as cool as possible.”
