When: December 5th, 2015 | Where: Tampa, Florida | Theme: Intimate, Multicultural, Modern, Classic | Colors: Purple, Silver
Joan and John’s Intimate Tampa wedding at the Grand Hyatt was welcomed by gorgeous sunny Tampa skies, tons of laughs, and so many smiles. Their intimate wedding reception gave John and Joan the opportunity to visit and connect with each guest at the wedding; this was important for them to share such a special day with only their close friends and family. It was also special for Katherine, John’s daughter, as she officially welcomed her fun and amazing step-mom Joan into the family.
Honoring her culture in the reception
“The ceremony was predominately American but somewhere along the way, I really felt it was important to acknowledge my heritage. My parents weren’t expecting it and while I told them what I intended to do with the symbol interwoven into the decor, they were quite happy as was my side of the family for the Asian heritage to be included. The symbol was the double happiness symbol for good luck at weddings.” – Joan
Proposal/How they Met
“We met in a happy hour group. He proposed at a wine bar with a cleverly crafted label on the bottle that said “engaged” which the owner brought out to me. We are friends with the owners so he had texted me that he had a bottle from his private stock that he’s sure that I would love. Turns out he and John planned it.” – Joan
