As we enter into our Cultural months our eyes have been glued to beautiful southern Asian weddings. Of course there is no way I’d make that statement without acknowledging the beauty in Henna seen on the Bride’s hands! Such detailing art, bursting with colors and jewelry is enough for anyone to take a second look when you see one of these photos.
After browsing through all the beautiful Henna wedding inspirational photos, I thought to add my favorite post format (Petals to Palettes) to this post; a color board seemed perfect. Aren’t this just colorful and beautiful? Yes, that was what I was going for. I may have used the term “Henna” loosely here as some people say Henna is the plant used and Mehndi is the design.
For a little more insight about Henna/Mehndi:
“Mehndi and henna are two terms commonly associated with each other. Mehndi and henna are two synonymous terms only each word originated from a different language. “Mehndi” is the Indian word for “henna,” and “henna” is the Arabic word for “mehndi.”
You may also find definitions telling that mehndi is the art of henna painting on the body. Thus, we can also say that mehndi is the result of that henna painting process, and henna is the medium used in creating a mehndi.
