The best #WeddingWednesdays are bound to showcase weddings that are truly Knotsvilla’s kind; themed/unique/full of props! Today’s Glamorous Old Hollywood wedding is just that and we couldn’t be any more glad to share it with KV readers! Photographed beautifully by Stephanie Dishman Photography, Betsy and Eric share the details and photos of their wedding below.
About the Glamorous Old Hollywood Wedding
There is so much to love about Betsy and Eric’s glamorous, old Hollywood wedding! From the play on black and white (that Vera Wang dress!) and pops of pink and gold, it was clearly a throw back to a more glamorous and glorious time! The makeup was perfect for the theme which truly made Betsy look every bit like the old Hollywood bombshell.
Betsy and Eric did much of the wedding themselves; putting together all of the wonderful details, and even making the backdrop for their photo booth. There didn’t seem to be any element in their wedding that wasn’t filled with glamour and a bit of their personalities (I mean, who has 4 wedding cakes?!).
About the Couple & Proposal
“We were set up on a blind date through a mutual friend. From the first date we both knew we found something extremely special. After a year and a half of dating, Eric planned a special weekend away for us. Knowing how badly I was wanting to visit Disney, he secretly planned our first trip there. We spent the day exploring Magic Kingdom enjoying the rides, however Eric kept awkwardly suggesting that we get a Caricature. Since we began dating we would collect caricatures on our trips. I was adamant that it was too expensive considering everything else the weekend entailed, but little did I know what he had in store.
We finally agreed to the Caricature. Eric sat first, then when it was my turn, I noticed him starting to get quiet and we had a small audience. When the artist asked if I was ready to see the finished product, I walked around the easel to see and in the Caricature it showed Eric on his knee with an engagement ring drawn in his hand. I turned around and he was there on his knee proposing to me. It is such articles special memory for us that we even used the Caricature in our Save the Date.”
Wedding Planning Advice
“Our advice for future couples is to continue to focus on each other and developing your relationship throughout the process. Family, decisions, and advice can seem overwhelming and stressful beyond compare … however remember that this one day is about you and your spouse. Be selfish and make decisions that make both of you happy no matter what others say. It will make your special all the more memorable.”
