Today’s real weeding hits home for me, because, to state the obvious, it’s a Nigerian wedding! Ashley and Olurotimi tied the knot in their very elegant Nigerian multi cultural wedding with Christa Kimble Photography behind the lens to capture it in all its glory!
About Elegant Nigerian Multi Cultural Wedding
Planned and coordinated by Chancey Charm Weddings, the wedding was sprinkled with lots of personal details. From the handmade brooch bouquet Ashley carried down the aisle, to the signature cocktails named after their two dogs, to the late night snack – personalized Coke bottles with soft pretzels. It all reflected Olurotimi’s desire to make every design decision intentional.
All food selections reflected their melding cultural backgrounds as well. The team at Two Caterers whipped up a delicious menu for the entire evening. At cocktail hour, guests nibbled on passed hors d’oeuvres of latkes, meat pies, scotch eggs, and mac and cheese bites. The buffet dinner of pork schnitzel, petite flat iron steaks, sauerkraut, and a mashed potato bar rounded out the international food journey.
Ashley donned clothes of Tim’s culture to honor his heritage and join as a member of his family. This led them to have three different outfits throughout the evening, including a gorgeous headwrap that matched the wedding colors.
“I loved how we incorporated both our cultures into our Wedding Day! We wore traditional white dress and tux. However, we also changed twice into traditional Nigerian wedding clothing. Including me getting my head wrapped! It was amazing to see our 2 families forget cultural and ethnic differences and just have fun dancing and talking! It really gives me a sense of hope for the future of human kind.” – Ashley
About the Couple
“We met in Cleveland Ohio. I was working the night shift as an ICU nurse and he was the physician on. My patient flat lined and I had to call a code. He was the one that responded. The patient made it. He asked me to coffee a few days later.
He proposed to me July 13, 2016. We were on vacation in Paris, France. We took a evening dinner cruise on the Seine River. At about 10 at night we are sailing by the Eiffel tower and it lit up, he asked me to marry him. It was like a dream.” – Ashley
Wedding Planning Advice
“If I had to give advice it is get a wedding planner and don’t sweat the small stuff because at the end of the day as long as you get married to the love of your life you’ve had a successful wedding!” – Ashley
