Lidia and Justin were married in a stunning setting at Cornerstone Sonoma, a beautiful winery in the valley. It was a colorful eclectic Sonoma wedding with different styles and details pulled from their personal journeys and characters.
Colorful Eclectic Sonoma Wedding
Her girls wore pastel shades that blended with the setting so gorgeously. Their beautiful photos show off all of the heartfelt details Lidia and Justin incorporated in their special day. The wood signs with gorgeous calligraphy and those incredible, handwritten table runners captured the love of the day so perfectly!
“I chose Cornerstone because I wanted an outdoor wedding but also with indoor options. Cornerstone was the perfect fit. The outdoor lawn area is just magnificent and then dinner was held under the beautiful round tent.
Dancing and and desserts were held at the barn so it was a nice surprise for everyone every which way they turned! We wanted to take in the beauty of the venue and let it speak for itself. We rented lounge furniture from Encore to create a more intimate and cozy feel in the barn.
My mother-in law home grew the succulent planter boxes that were our centerpieces. My husband loves whiskey so I incorporated whiskey bottles into our centerpiece tabletop look. I told my husband I didn’t want a traditional bridal bouquet and my husband found a paper bouquet that was absolutely gorgeous so he took it upon himself to help me make it! The bouquet turned out beautifully!”
“I didn’t want my bridesmaids all wearing the same exact dress so I had them each choose a dress they liked in the color scheme. All the dresses turned out beautifully and worked really well with each other.
Justin didn’t want tuxedos for him and the guys so we just told them to find or purchase a grey suit since we thought having the groomsmen wear different shades of grey would be a nice personal touch to the eclectic feel.”
“My husband and I made them! We cut the paper flowers and assembled them! It was a mix of paper Dahlias, Ranunculus, and hydrangeas.”
“Our wedding cake was made by our dear friend Lisa Lu who is the pastry chef at Boulevard! I wanted a simple cutting cake. I love green tea so she made me a green tea chocolate cake! My mother-in law, an amazing baker made all our bite sized treats since I have a big sweet tooth. There was lemon bars, almond bars, and caramel!”
“My bouquet was handmade by my husband and I. We cut and assembled each piece. Lots of work but it turned out beautiful! I also hand-made our sign-in guest boards. These two boards were created in the state image of California and Illinois. Justin and I spent a good portion of our dating life in Chicago so it just felt right to bring some Chicago into our wedding.”
Wedding Planning Advice
“Enjoy every moment of it because you’ll miss it when it’s over. Don’t underestimate your partner, because they can be the most help in the stressful moments. It’s a partnership and it starts during the wedding planning process.
Lastly, hire a day of or month of coordinator. You will have so much more fun because you don’t have to worry about anything!”
