Here is a completely fun colorful beachside engagement session I have been waiting to share with you all for quite sometime. With Knotsvilla’s craze about color-ful, theme-ful, prop-ful and culture-ful wedding related events, this engagement surely hits the spot with 3 of these categories and for that, dear All My Love Photography, we say thank you!
An engagement session for a very good looking pair and highly fashionable bride-to-be. Sarah truly rocked this session with both her outfits; the tutu skirt and the neon green beachy dress. The bicycle, flowers and ampersand sign were some of the props that made this session even more darling and colorful.
This session also comes with all the details we love to hear about an engagement session; the how they met and proposal story! What makes the stories even more Awwww-worthy is the fact that they are both told by the groom-to-be!
Enjoy Sarah and Thomas’ colorful beachside engagement session!
How They Met
“Sarah and I met on January 8th, 2012. It was a Sunday. I remember because I was home getting ready for the upcoming workweek and about to watch the NFL playoffs. I received a text from one of my friends telling me he wanted to go “grab a drink” during the game. I was reluctant at first, but a few of my other friends decided to go as well, so I figured well, why not.
I was unaware this was going to be a life changing decision. I noticed Sarah as soon as I walked in. However, it took me about 2 hours to get the courage to approach her. I am not the type to approach strangers, even ones I find very attractive. However, one of my friends eventually said to me that if I didn’t go talk to her he would. So, I had no choice.
I watched how she interacted with her friends, with other guys, etc. I noticed that for the most part she seemed approachable and seemed to be receptive of my eye contact. (I later learned, she wasn’t wearing her glasses and had bad vision and was just wondering who the heck was staring at her). I like my version of the story better. Sparing you the details of my magical, genius approach… my thoughts of not wanting to go out that afternoon turned into not wanting to go home that evening. We talked for a few hours that evening, followed by a few more hours of texting. We haven’t gone a day without speaking since!”
The Proposal Story
“After dating for over two years Sarah knew a proposal was coming. We had gone to look at rings so I could get an idea of what she liked. So the element of surprise was never really there. The only thing I had working for me was she didn’t know when it was coming. I knew that if I planned anything out of the ordinary, she would be on to me. So I decided my best bet was to catch her when she least expected it.
I waited for weeks trying to find an opportunity. With the help of her best friend Rochelle, opportunity finally knocked. She had an appointment to get her hair and nails done on a Friday afternoon and we were scheduled to have dinner with her parents that night. (I knew if I proposed without her having her nails done she wouldn’t be happy!)
I had her parents come over while she was at her nail appointment. We were relaxing in the living room patiently awaiting her arrival. I was waiting on one knee as she opened the door. Her purse dropped to the floor as quickly as her tears did. It was the perfect moment. She had a nice, new accessory on for dinner that evening. We will be getting married in Mexico July 2015!”
