Hey lovers and friends, welcome to another new month of the year 2014; and the day we “Canadians” celebrate as Canada Day! Is it just me or is this year really moving by fast? Well as fast as it is moving, I am glad this blog is able to keep up the pace with gorgeous wedding inspiration for you. Speaking of gorgeous, how about today’s Canada Vintage engagement? This session takes us back to the 40s in Banff, Alberta with an adorable couple that makes you think it’s a styled shoot…but it’s not!
Enjoy this real engagement session by Kim Payant photography as we celebrate Canada Day! Keep on scrolling, there’s more to see and read.
“This couple were so fun to work with and when I ask them if they wanted to do something special for their engagement photos they responded quickly that they love love love the 40’s and wanted to do something inspired by that era. We decided to do a romantic picnic with vintage detail like the old suitcase, glass coke bottle chess game and vintage candy. I love how they dress up, it went really well all together. They also love to read and write so we incorporated that into the shoot, they wrote each other a little love letter during the photo session, it was really sweet.” – Kim Payant Photography
The Proposal: We were on a cruise in Europe for my mum’s 50th birthday it was the first, formal night. Mike had disappeared for a few hours and I couldn’t find him. I was dressed for the night and to be honest a little cranky at him, okay a lot. He comes sauntering back in to our cabin and I was like “where were you” and he said “with your brother and Dave” (step dad). He went in to shower and was giggling to himself because he knew what was coming. So we go to dinner which is nice than decide to do some family photos on the stairs in the middle of the ship. We are all getting arranged by the photographer who is setting us up and Mike disappeared again I am looking up at the photographer when I can feel someone below me and there is Mike on one knee asking me to marry him somewhere off the coast of Croatia. He had spent the afternoon organizing the proposal and asking my family permission. The best is we have photos of the whole proposal from my shocked look to the kiss! – Amy, the Bride

Hope you got the chill but love-filled sense of Alberta from this session. I know it is HOT right now since summer is upon us so I thought something cold, something red and something Canada would be perfect for today. Happy Canada day to you Knotsvilla readers!
