California Indian Wedding by Erica Mendenhall Photography

Actually the title does not do this piece justice, in full explanation it should be: A Mix of Cultures; An Indian and Western Wedding in California. That pretty much describes this beautiful wedding of Samantha and Jay beautifully captured by Erica Mendenhall Photography, but that title would be too long so I settled for this. DO you remember seeing their Holi Powder engagement a few weeks ago? Well like I promised, the wedding would be up for some extra swooning.

Having two completely different ceremonies ( the first being Indian, the second Caucasian /traditional), as their marriage would be combining both cultures, their day began with their beautiful detailed Indian ceremony, which lasted several hours.

Such gorgeous henna against the most royal color ever- Purple!

After the Indian ceremony, next was a complete wardrobe and setting change for the Caucasian/western/traditional wedding ceremony with the couple obviously in very different looks. Jay rocked perfectly his grey suit with hints of Purple and Samantha looked gorgeous in her white and silver look with her henna still on her hands and feet.

They ended the night with a beautiful roof top outdoor reception. Highlighting such radiant centerpieces and a beautiful floral sweetheart table for the couple.

I chuckled at this very cute idea and adding their childhood photos to their wedding. Obviously that’s the groom there.

As you can imagine, this was a very detail oriented wedding, with over 6,000 final images! Essentially it truly was two weddings, back to back with the same couple at the same venue, in completely different attire. But both with the same love and attention to what mattered to them most; their family, beliefs and one another.
