With fall being the couple’s favorite time of the year and in need of a wedding to capture the essence of their free spirited relationship, a bohemian fall backyard wedding was perfect for the Danny and Brittany.

Bohemian Fall Backyard Wedding

“Fall is our favorite time of year so there was no question in our minds as to when. I love the warmth the deep red and amber tones that time of year bring. We chose to have an intimate backyard wedding at the house I grew up in. There we set the stage with rustic, aged and eclectic decor. My vision was to have a bohemian style wedding that captured the essence of our free spirited relationship.”

Wedding Flowers

“To keep to the bohemian and fall theme, I went with a lot of greenery. From the centerpieces and bouquets, to the flower crowns. Seeded eucalyptus, spiral eucalyptus and gunny eucalyptus. I chose deep red and burgundy tones with splashes of blush, cream and blue thistle!”

Wedding Cake

“We were very blessed with our sweet treats! Our cake was a carrot cake with cream cheese icing, it was made from scratch by my cousin who is a culinary chef. She made it special for us and our dairy allergies. It’s a family secret recipe that’s to die for! Our cupcakes, pumpkin snickerdoodle and chocolate maple bacon (yes they were every bit of delicious as they sound) were made by long time family friends of the groom.”

Favors – Non Edible

“Everyone got to go home with a mini succulent. I also had custom stickers made for them that said “imma succa for you””

DIY Deets

“I’m a DIY kind of gal and we made a lot of pieces ourselves which made it all that much more special. We took old wood from the backyard, bought some rope, a metal lettered “R” and handmade our unity piece for the ceremony. Ecclesiastes 4:12, “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

We also made our adorable cake topper! We got two wood sticks, some burlap fabric, twine and a little paint to say “BEST DAY EVER” I also took old frame from around the house and hand wrote all our signs (welcome sign, food sign, etc.) I even took a large old frame, ran twine from side to side to display our seating chart!”

More Details

“Another personal touch we loved were our table names. Each table was named after one of our favorite spots in Lake Tahoe! My favorite piece though, was the one I put together to honor my Dad. I hung twice across a wood board, clipped three photos on it and hand wrote below “in honor of the one who is watching in heaven””
