With and outdoor ceremony at a local arboretum right in front of the water and blush & navy for their color inspiration, Kier and David’s Indiana wedding is a total dream to view!
Blush Navy Indiana Wedding
“We knew our wedding would not be small, but we wanted to have it close to our hometown so that all of our family and friends would be there. We were limited on venues because of size, and ended up choosing the hall where our high school proms were held for the reception.
Being July, we wanted to take advantage of a beautiful arboretum close by, so that is where we had our ceremony. We have a simple style, one that is more natural and clean. With navy and blush as our color inspiration, elegant/antique decor, and a multitude of flowers, our vision came together.”
“I wanted to give the bridesmaids a choice on whatever style they felt comfortable in, but they all ended up falling in love with a beautiful Adrianna Papell dress. It was the perfect shade of blush with just a hint of sparkly glam. We wanted the groomsman to have a clean look, so we went with an all navy ensemble. The groom had a special blush bowtie, instead of the navy.”
“They were beautiful with blush and ivory tones using soft greens as an accent. I wanted a more loose, natural looking bouquet full of peonies and other luscious blooms that were all white with very soft pinks.
The bridesmaids had more blush colored flowers in their bouquets to offset the white in mine. We had no flowers at the ceremony, as it was outside, but we chose three separate centerpieces for the tables at our reception hall; a tall arrangement, a short but full arrangement, and then a small vase with blush colored roses.”
“We chose to do koozies that read, “To have a to hold and to keep your drink cold.” David’s brother and sister-in-law had done this same thing almost 10 years ago. We thought our family could probably use some new koozies, so we “borrowed” their idea! (:”
Wedding Planning Advice
” Often people look most forward to the reception because that is where the fun always happens. When meeting with our officiant, he reminded us of the reason for the celebration, and that was the marriage itself. This helped us to focus and love our ceremony just as much as the party after.
A videographer is a MUST!! With the craziness of the day, it is nearly impossible to remember everything. We cried and laughed and cried some more watching our video. Not only does it capture the day, but it brings back all of the emotions that were felt. We also know that, years from now, we will be thankful to see and hear those who will no longer be with us.
Get a Photo Booth! We bought a special book to put the images in and we laugh so hard looking at them! Our guests really got creative! I planned most of our wedding with much help from my groom, but I tend to get stressed and worried which made wedding planning not very exciting at times. If I could go back, I would try my best not to worry and stress so that I could enjoy the process, because it goes by SO FAST!!”
