When: May 06, 2016 | Where: New Jersey | Theme: Formal, City Skyline | Colors: Blue, Purple
John and Becky tied the knot last summer at the Maritime Parc in their lovely blue purple New Jersey wedding. The couple knew they wanted a modern venue and with that came the gorgeous NYC skyline view. The skyline view quickly became a center point for their wedding.
Blue and Purple New Jersey Wedding
“The best decision we made was to have a private first looks. Some family members were originally upset with our decision as they wanted to either be a part of the first looks or wanted us to first see each other down the aisle. John and I are fairly shy/private people and we wanted to make sure that this moment was intimate and that we could share it just with one another.
At the end of the day, we chose to do what we felt was right and we couldn’t be more happy. John’s face when seeing me for the first time was absolutely priceless! After seeing the pictures everyone agreed that it was a good decision and made it feel even more special.” – Becky
“Video games have always been a big part of John’s life. I have always enjoyed them as well but I got more into them throughout our relationship.
On December 19, 2014, I got home from work and John told me that he had a demo of a latest game in a series that we always liked. When I sat down to play it with him, an error message popped up on the screen. I didn’t realize it at the time, but the error message contained our names, anniversary, and some other special little tid bits from our lives. The error screen quickly turned to black and prompted me to turn towards John as he had “something important he needed to ask.” I turned to John and he was on his knee with a ring in his hand asking me to marry him.
Later, I found out John had a hidden camera in our Christmas tree and recorded the whole thing while my sister and mother watched from a webcam!” – Becky
Wedding Planning Advice
“Having gone through the process of planning a wedding we have learned many things. One of the most important pieces of advice we have is to create a budget and do your best to stick to it. It is amazing how quickly things add up. Before the process started we spoke about things we were willing to sacrifice (lots of flowers) vs. things we weren’t willing to sacrifice (great pictures). We found this a good way to help us stick with a budget but not give up too much of what was important to us. In the end, we had the wedding of our dreams!” – Becky
