Okay I think this is the 3rd Arizona Wedding in about 2 weeks…is that some sort of hint for AZ? Of course i am not complaining, in fact I am happy to hoard all these beautiful Arizona events on my blog! Keep them coming 🙂

Today’s couple, Jacqualin & Larry planned a black and whited themed wedding, going for the classic Hollywood look. They had a custom logo designed just for their wedding and used the logo on their napkins, and candy bags at the candy bar. The decor of the country club was filled with silver candle holders and lit wax candles, black and white linens.

” Hearing bag pipes playing instead of the traditional “here comes the bride” melody definitely brought smiles to the faces of their guests. It gave a princess feel to the bride coming down the aisle with her father.” – Brian of Brian Minson Wedding Photography

Their Story
Jacqualin and Larry met on Match.com about three years ago. When Larry asked her out, she originally said no because he was a handsome firefighter that lived out of the area (Tucson). However, Larry continued to request a date until she just couldn’t resist any longer.

When it came time for Larry to propose he made sure Jacqualin felt like a princess when he popped the question in front of the castle at Disney Land. Even though he was very sick (turned out to have bronchitis and a collapsed lung), he was bound and determined to make the proposal of both of their dreams a reality.

On March 3, 2012, Larry and Jacqualin arrived at Disney Land bright and early. Unfortunately, there was a bomb threat and Disney closed its gates for the fourth time in Disney history. Since Larry had not been feeling well, they went back to the hotel, had a nice breakfast and rested until Disney opened back up.

Once the gates were opened, Larry and Jacqualin hurried to get back in. While waiting to enter, Larry texted Jacqualin (since he could not talk) “It is a tradition for me to go to the princess castle first”. Since Jacqualin loves the princess castle she just smiled and said okay. While sitting in front of the princess castle Larry got down on one knee and said “Will you marry me?” Just to make sure there was no confusion (since his voice was gone) he also sent her a message saying “Every princess deserves her own castle and maybe one day I can buy you one. But, until then, can I be your prince?” She began to cry and said “Of course!” Her family then arrived to find a crying Jacqualin with a beautiful ring on her finger and a relieved Larry who was glad he made it through the entire ordeal. They then celebrated by having a romantic dinner inside Pirates of the Caribbean (Jacqualin’s favorite ride) at the Blue Bayou. It really was the perfect proposal.
